Dr. Eugene Terry, Chair of the Advisory Board of the West Africa Centre for Crop Improvement (WACCI), has been given an award for his outstanding contribution to rice research and development in Africa during his term as the Director General of the Africa Rice Centre.

The award was presented by His Excellency Dr. Modibo Sidibe, Prime Minister of the Republic of Mali at the opening ceremony of the second Africa Rice Congress held in Bamako from 22-26 March, 2010.
