Eight Students Win PhD Scholarships Tenable at WACCI

The West Africa Centre for Crop Improvement (WACCI) is delighted to announce the recipients of the PhD scholarships for January 2012 enrollment.


The successful candidates are:

          1. Matilda Ntowa Bissah, Plant Genetic Resources Research Institute (PGRRI - CSIR), Bunso, Ghana
          2. Samuel Oppong - Abebrese, Savanna Agricultural Research Institute (SARI - CSIR), Tamale, Ghana
          3. Mercy Elohor Ahor Diebiru, International Institute for Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan, Nigeria
          4. Christian Okechukwu Anyaoha, National Horticultural Research Institute (NIHORT), Ibadan, Nigeria
          5. Solomon Olufemi Afuape, National Root Crops Research Institute, Umudike, Nigeria
          6. Zara Soutonnoma Nikiema, Institut de l’Environnement et de Recherches  Agricoles (INERA - CREAF), Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso
          7. Hamidou Massaoudou, Institut National de la Recherches Agronomique du Niger (INRAN), Niamey, Niger
          8. Sanogo Ousmane, AVRDC, The World Vegetable Center, Bamako, Mali

These students will constitute the final cohort under the current agreement with the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA).
