Facilities and Technology
WACCI is located on the main campus of the University of Ghana and operates within the School of Agriculture.
The WACCI Center is close to the Biotech center. WACCI Center includes offices, student cubicles, lecture rooms and a library. The Center has reliable power and stable communications. The Biotech Center will be utilized when required for teaching classes and labs. WACCI has access to a farm and an undeveloped land which is being developed into a field training facility.The farm will be used by the staff for teaching and for research. Students will use the farm for their mini-projects in their second year. The farm will have a reliable water supply and irrigation capacity. The farm building will have sufficient seed storage facilities as well as the basic equipment needed for Plant Breeding activities including, tables, seed shellers, and room for seed drying.
WACCI students and staff have reliable access to the internet from the WACCI Center and any other place that provides Internet connectivity. Videoconferencing facilities are available and are reliable for work with collaborating universities and partners.WACCI students and academics should have access to other devices that should be part of the West Africa Centre for Crop Improvement.
